Default 1997 XLT radio display/lights not working

I was working on my wife's 1997 XLT yesterday and I removed the center console to look at the rear seat blower fan, which as it turns out had some small pieces of plastic stuck in it. I put the console back in and everything worked fine. She drove it about 40 minutes and then another 30 minutes today and then the radio display went out. The radio is still working fine in every other way, just no display. I checked all the fuses that I thought might be related to the radio and did not see any that were blown. The on/off push button on this radio already did not work but we just turned it down when we weren't using it. If anyone has an suggestions I would appreciate hearing them.

Thanks,
Randy
