i have a 1993 ford explorer 4.0.
just last week my 4x4 was working great. but all of a sudden this week my 4x4 started to knock when i accelerated kinda hard. and then when i put it out of 4x4 it made a loud grinding noise.
but today all it would do is make a grinding noise when i put it in 4x4. and when i accelerated it knocked really badly. and when i go to turn it off i get the knocking still. i have to stop the car turn it off and let the car sit and it will be fine if you dont mess with the 4x4.
does anyone know what could be the problem? i really appreciate the help if any.
