Default bolt pattern mishap, now what

I have a rat rod with a 97 ford explorer 8.8" rear with 4.10 gears. Bolt pattern is 5x114 right? Bought some rims off a lexus is300 which are 5x114.3 and tried putting them on and they sorta fit but dont sit flush with the hub.

It sits crooked on the studs, didnt realize the .3 made that much of a difference, even looked on some other forums and they said it was pretty much the same.

My question: Would it be possible to drill out the holes to make it fit or would that make it worse? Not to sure about using adapters either. (Added stress).

Any tips, advise is appreciated.
Should I just sell them. Planned on using them in a burnout contest.

Thanks,
Mike

I would sell them.

it all really depends if the the wheels are meant to be hub-centric/ centered by the hub or lug-centric, centered by the studs. I wouldn't chance it.

I think I'm going to try modifying one of them, got 4 rims with tires on them gor 70 bucks with 50% tread. So if i mess on up oh well. Can still sell for at least what i got them for. May also need different lug nut.

Will keep updated if it gets fubar'd or not haha

The 114.3mm for the Explorer rear is correct. 114.3mm is 4.5", so the lug spacing should be correct. I would double check the hub center bore measurement. You'll probably find that the Lexus IS300 center bore is 60.1mm and the Ford is 70.3mm. The Lexus rims would need to be bored out to fit. But then, there may not be enough mating surface left to fit safely on the hub.
