Default Disableing the Key Chip Sensor

Alright, I have a 98 explorer that is used as a work truck now. I need to make about 5 keys for it and want to disable the key chip sensor in the ignition. Any one know how to do this? I would like to get by with making $1.79 key copies for this truck, so any help would be appreciated!
