Ever heard of the rear window exploding out? Evidently my 1999 Eddie Bauer Explorer window blew out during the afternoon while parked in front of my house.it is clear that it was not broken into because the glass is all on the outside of the car and radiates at least 6-7 feet from the car all around. What causes this?

 

Have your dealership run an OASIS report on your vehicle. You just need the VIN number on it and call them with it. They can tell you if there was an outstanding campaign on the liftgate hinges for the glass. I don't remember the years of this campaign, but that was one of the problems, if your vehicle was effected.
