TSB for Airbag Light / Seatbelt
I have a 2002 Ford Explorer; I took it in because my airbag light came on. I was told there was a TSB for this - it has something to do with the seltbelt retension and the airbag - unfortunately this failed after I was out of the factory warrantee. I do have an extended warrantee but now I'm being told by them that since there was a TSB for this they will not cover it (the warranttee was purchased at the time I purchased the car through the dealer - same dealer I'm going to for service).
CS told me basically once they found out I was out of warrantee that is all they would say to be its notcovered because you are out of warrantee. I tried (patiently @ first) that it is really not my fault that the defective part failed after the warrantee. This is the second time a TSB was issued for my vehicle and the defective part failed after the factory warrantee. I do not feel I should have to pay for this repair at all; but I figured at least Ford, the dealer or the warrantee company would offer to pay for at least part of the repair.
I'm at my witts end; I'm very upset this has happened for a 2x with ford. I feel they are not backing their product, I lived up to my end of the bargain - taking care of my car, proper maintenace, etc. I do not have control of when a defective part will fail. Any ideas how to get them to take responsibility - it is an important item (airbag) and I have to get it fixed to be safe.
Thanks for any help.

You can click on the TSB button on the top of the page.
Which ESP warrenty do you have?? A TSB has no effect on weather a part is or is not covered by you ESP. But your car is 6 years old so the base 3 yr 36,000 mile warrenty ended long ago.
