Default 2009 Ford F150 5.4L Towing

I have a 2009 Ford F150 King Ranch 5.4L and when I tow my travel trailer, I always turn off the Overdrive. Later this week, I will be towing my 17 foot boat to Florida and am wondering if I need to turn of the OD since the boat has less wind resistance and weighs maybe 2500 pounds. My present thinking is to leave the overdrive on and when I get to the hills of North Florida, turn it off if the transmission starts downshifting on hills. What do you all think?

If you drive that far with the OD OFF you will have some gas bill since 5.4s don't get that great mileage to start with. Approx how far away from Fla will you have to drive?

The trip is about 10 hours or 600 miles. Half of the trip will be hilly and the remainder pretty much flat land.
