I am at the end of my rope!!!Bought a brand new f150 45 days ago.The truck shakes at 5mph and at 40/50 mph.Have had it to the dealer 4 times. Twice they changed a tire and balanced the rest.The truck also doesn't shift properly which they say is normal.It is a supercab with an 8 ft bed,told it is charactertistic of this vehicle and they refuse to do anything further to it.Filed a complaint with Ford Motor and he contacted the dealership,the service manager told them that
it does shake and that it runs better than some and not as good as others.REALLY!!! So the resolution is that they gave us a premium extended warranty,with no fix.
The problems are classic drivetrain problems and they won't even look at it.
I don't know what to do next. I can't even trade it in without taking an 8000.00 hit.

 

Have you considered trying another Ford dealership service dept?

Sounds like either a shifted belt on a tire. See if the next Dealership will swap a set of tires from another truck onto your to see if it goes away. If it does, then problem solved. If not, you could have a caliper hanging up on you. I had the same issue with my Freestar when it was new with the passenger side caliper hanging up. Have them check the inner and outer pads for excessive wear. If you can get your paws on a heat scanner, drive the truck for a few miles and compare rotor temps between the Driver and Passenger side. The hotter side will be the culprit. That's how I proved my issue with Ford. Then they go "Oh yeah, the inner pad is worn down, the caliper must be hanging up"...I'm like "DUH, I already told you that, good diagnosis".

 

Ok so today I was looking at the work orders of the work 2 different dealers have done.The first one changed the rear left tire that was at 58 pounds.the second one change the same tire left rear because it was at 48 pounds.So this truck has had 3 defective tires all on the rear left with 4 weeks.I don't know I am not a mechanic but seems to me that it's something else that is making these tires defective.Even I can figure that out!!So have an appt,Tuesday at yet another dealer,lets see where this goes.

 

I had a similar issue and it was defective tires. Are you going this Tuesday Judy (16th)?

Just a little food for thought,
If by any chance the vehicle was allowed to hit a curb or parking marker it could cause the belt(s) within the tire to move out of the correct position and produce a wobble, shimmy or vibration. Is it possible something like this might have happened recently?
