Hey guys im kinda new about this kinda stuff i have never had one of these acounts befor so if you could help me out that would be great. I have a 1997 ford f.150 it has a 4.6L v8 in it now it has an automatic trans. in it now and it has no get up and go. I also a 1993 ford f.150 and it has a 4.9L inline six with a 5 speed manuel tranny in it and really the only question i have so far is. Can i take the 4.9 out of my 1993 and put it into my 1997 ? If you gus have any advice it would awsome

Did you ever have any hot soak problems with your 4.9 inline?
There were some that required an addl cooling fan set-up to solve heat related problems with the fuel injection system on the 4.9 s. Don't know if this would become a problem if transferred to a 97. Maybe yours already has the modification. Does it?

 

not quite sure about that ill have to check it but as far as i know i have never noticed any problems with it thanks for the tip and do you think ill have to change the motor mounts to change all that over or will it line up like i would like it to???????????
