wanting to put side pipes on in front of the back passenger tire on my 08 flex fuel. not sure if i want to use a muffler or not. i have a 97 with cat back straights and its not all that loud so i was wondering if my 08 would be much louder? if i didnt use a muffler would there be loss in hp or mpg? im keeping stock cats ,the ol lady wont let me spend that much. will tip design effect the sound? thinking about square style tips. sound clips or video would be great. id appretiate all the help i can get.

 

I think you can expect about the same noise level as your 97.

There may be a slight change in hp and mpg, but I think it would be very minimal.

I don't think the tip will make much difference in sound, either. That and it sounds like you have already decided what tip you mant to see on your truck, so go with what you think will look good.
