Well, the round trip to Florida this past April netted a 23.3MPG. Wife was running 21ish MPG and I ran 26-27 MPH with cruise set 5 over the posted limit. 80 MPH is a solid 2,000 RPMs with the 3:15 gears and hardly any boost. Truck has been setting since returning from Florida on April 22. Put my AMSOIL 5W-30 in the engine. Will be taking it to Arizona here shortly. Will see what it runs with more break-in miles on it.

Well, made the trip to Arizona. 2,501 miles from Yorkshire, NY to McKinney, TX. to Queen Creek, Az. Truck ran like a champ and never missed a beat. Used a total of 98 gallons of fuel for the trip. Total MPG was 25.4 and the trucks computer actually logged 25.3 MPG. Pretty darn accurate. The 1st pic is what the truck was running for MPG coming out of Tucson, AZ towards Queen Creek, AZ on the last stretch. 2nd pic is the truck sleeping in AZ.

Thumbs up

Nice!..

Don't think my truck would get that if I coasted part of the way! Looks like your rig gets best of care, nice nest in the garage too. Glad the trip was a breeze...

Thanks...Trip was eventless, truck never missed a beat. The 3:15 gears and 36 gallon fuel tank also was nice to have. Glad I ordered them. Stopped in McKinney, TX for a couple of days at out Son's to watch our grandson (9 year old) play football. Then on to AZ for a couple of weeks. Then flew back to McKinney, TX for more grandson football and soccer. Then back to NY. The Freestar appears to be happy that I'm back and gets full attention...

Logging some serious miles!!

We just found out we're going to be Grand Parents again. And I thought the kids being 3&5 hours away was tough. Lol

Congrats. We have 4. 3 in TX, 1 in AZ (1.5 - 9 years old). Usually log a little over 5,000 miles round trip to TX-AZ and back to NY. Next road trip will probably be in April with the Freestar since it seems to be itching for another leg stretcher...

What mileage is a Ford Atlas safe for a complete engine repair?

The Ford Atlas was just the prototype F-150 built as a preview of the aluminum 2015 F-150.

Been a quite a while since I've posted anything anywhere. After almost 7.5 years, I've racked up a total of 31,478 miles. Just finished replacing my spark plug as I've lost a couple of MPG and a little "Giddy-Up n' Scoot" in my 3.5 Ecoboost. The old plugs had a gap between .37-.38, I gapped the new plugs at .30, so it should be happy for a while.
