Default EGR Valve

I am getting ready to install new Headers on a 98 F-150 with a 4.6. My EGR hasnt worked in years. Can i plug it off at the end of the tube or will my truck not run then? Can I just completely remove it and put a plate in its place? Anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to the site..

Plugging off or removing the EGR won't cause the truck to not, but will set codes and a CEL..
