Does anybody have a K&N intake and filter on a 2006 F150 with the 5.4L V8? I recently purchased a used 2006 Ford F150 FX4 with 46,000 miles and the previous owner installed the correct K&N filter with a plastic intake. I am repeatedly getting a sputtering in engine power when aggressive excelleration is necessary. Anyone have a similar problem or solution? Does anyone know it this problem is not related to the intake?

I had a caddy that did the same thing. Its getting to much air! People think you can just throw one of those things one a vehicle and they work but it doesn't! Ya gonna get the right one for it!

put it back to stock .the problem with some of these aftermarket air gizmos is the velocity factor .
the factory air intake operates at a certain air velocity that provides good throttle response over the throttle range .
change that velocity and now you got driveability issues .

sometimes its best to leave good things be .more times than not adding air leans out the engine(you need to add air and fuel to get more power ,not just air)and does not get you more power .actually steals torque from you .

it might sound good coming out the muffler but thats about it .
good luck
