Default Lincoln Mark LT

Hope it is ok to post here about Lincoln truck since it is the same as a F150, The problem I have is when I turn the key on I have all my lights on an the speedometer is on but seems like I have no power to the starter because it won't turn over or do anything, I turn the key on and off several times repeatedly then all of a sudden the motor turns over and starts, Thanks for any help.

Sounds like a starter/ relay. Any noises, clicks etc? Or just the dash lamp indications...

Thanks for the response, I don't hear any clicking or noises which is weird because I thought a starter or solenoid would do that.

Same operation if you try and start in neutral?

I would try cleaning the battery posts and the inside of the battery terminal. Poor connection in that area can result in your lights working fine, but the starter doing nothing due to no amperage capabilities caused by oxidation on the contact surface of the posts/terminals. When this happens, you get no click or anything and sometimes it will start, but more often not.

The odd thing about it is that the truck has been starting every time since I post this question but the next time it happens I will try to start it in neutral, I had a new battery installed about 4 months ago and they put something on it to keep the terminals from getting corroded but I will check that also.
