Rims and tires
Hey everyone I'm pretty new at this forum thing, I'm 18 an have a 92' f-150 XLT with a 5.0, stock. I'm looking to put some 15x8 American racing rims on it and I'm wondering what a good offset is for the rims. I found a set that has a -12 offset. Is that to much? Also I'm loYou add 1" to the rim width to account for the wheel flange (pictured below) because there is a 1/2" space on each side between the wheel flange and inner lip. The actual width of the wheel is measured from wheel flange to wheel flange. So if your wheel is a 15x8, the 8 (width) is measured by the wheel flange and not from outside lip to outside lip. oking to put 31x10.5 tires on them, is this a good size and will I need to put in lower gears and change the speedo?

Well, your stock tire width is 9.25in and you are looking to put on 10.5in wide tires. I would venture to say that the .63in difference per side of tire width won't hut you any on a stock rim. So if you use your stock rim offset I would think you would be O.K. If you want to be safe, add an inch to the offset. It will more than compensate for that difference.
