Default slight klunk after stopping

Looking for some advice on a noise I hear once in awhile. When I am in traffic and I start and stop a lot. After coming to a complete stop a second later I hear a klunk. Does this have something to do with the torque convertor dis-engaging or something else in the drive train relaxing. I have a 2000 f-150 auto with the 4.6. It has 84000 miles on it and I just bought it 2 months ago. I have about 200 miles left on the warranty agreed on upon the sale. Thanks, Tom D

If your not rolling/moving too fast in the traffic, try leaving it in 'manual 1' and see if the problem is still there without a 1-2 upshift.. There's a TSB for models with a split driveshaft for the driveshaft slip yoke being under lubed causing a clunk on launch as the driveline torque loads.. There's another TSB for a 2-1 downshift clunk, but should have completed the shift before being stopped for a second or two.. Your truck a 2x4 r 4x4?

It is a 4x4. Right now there's no snow so I'm not in 4 wheel. It doesn't do it when taking off, only after I stop. I'll come to a complete stop, sit for about a second and then it'll klunk. thanks, tom
