Default 1997 7.3l rough idle and sputter at hard acceleration

I have noticed in the last few day my idle getting rougher than normal. Then when I was going 60 mph down the road and had to get on it it started to miss like it wasn't getting enough fuel but if I backed off to 3/4 throttle ran fine. But now the idle is rougher that normal and when stopped at a light and start to let off brake it wants to roll with the rough idle. But some times I can put it to the floor and it runs fine. Changed fuel filter thinking it was the problem but only helped with idle for about 30 min. The guy I bought the truck from is on here and he recently rebuilt injectors but could one be sticking? I'm new to this motor and need help. It is my everyday driver. Thanks in advance.

Does this year vehicle have the strainers located in the fuel tank? They are part of the fuel level float and pick-up tube. Diesel Tech RON on You tube as a video about this.

I'm not for sure but since you brought that up my fuel take selector I tacking up and have been only using the back tank. I had it on front tank after fueling both and noticed my fuel gauge not going down like it should then switched to back tank and it was on 1/4 of a tank and front on 5/8. Do you think this could be the problem. But I have just been using back tank and truck shows 1/2 on front tank now. But will see if it is somehow pulling from both tanks tomorrow when I get home to see what is going on. Does andyone have the wiring diagram to switch the pump with the one from oriellys cause I have to change the wiring harness. The fuel tank selector from ford is almost $400 vs. $80 oriellys thanks again for any help.

Jmart045,
That is a pretty big difference in price and when we see something like this , get kinda suspicious usually its the wrong part. Hope I'm wrong here, but something you might consider would be to get the part # from Ford , then see if the cheaper price part is the same. It could save you a lot of trouble and work. What do you think on that?
It is possible Ford is selling the entire module where as O Riellys may be selling only the pump motor itself.

Hanky this is the part I'm talking about and have heard a few guy switch to it. Due to the price. Te only thing I have to change is take the ford fuel in hook ups off and go regular hose clamps an wiring harness but the price makes ups for the labor. Hope the pic shows up. But could that valve be causing my roughy idle?

I don't know for sure if that valve could be the problem, but I don't think so.
Hayapower has a lot more experience with these particular problems and possibly he could offer some assistance.

Also if my ICP sensor has oil in it could that be the problem or does that just mean it's bad?
