Default 95 7.3 hard starting when cold

I've got a 95 superduty with the 7.3 and it's not wanting to start cold. When it does start it doesn't want to run well until it warms up. I've replaced the glow plugs and glow plug controller and that helped. I've also checked my oil pressure because I heard that controls the injectors. The truck has been sitting for some time now, could that have something to do with it? I'm an auto mechanic but diesels are new to me. Any help would be appeciated.

Over time the smaller gadgets like to crap out first. Diesels never run well until warmed up. Some people buy electric plug-in block heaters to keep it warmed overnight, etc.
