2006 6.0 diesel hard to start / starting trouble
hello, please help! my 2006 diesel f-250 cranks over until the battery almost dies before starting. it also seems to be worse after it has already been running and i restart. any ideas? i am thinking maybe the fuel filter or something.

First - with a diesel you're supposed to let the glow plugs heat up totally before starting (see owners manual). If it doesn't start after warmed up good that is odd. Could be a fuel filter. Also check air filter. No engine runs good without air either. It really shouldn't cool that fast unless it's a real cold day (with large exhaust pipes air flow tends to cool fast - in which case add a flapper).

thanks for the reply "goingstrong" i do wait for the glow plugs to heat up. and the days have been warmer than in the past. so air and fuel filter seems like the thing to check, unless anyone else has any other ideas?
