87 f250 trans problems

You have a couple of options.
You could take a drill the size of the broken bolt and let it make a center hole starting point since the cross member will act as a guide for that drill then use a smaller drill bit and continue thru to the end of the bolt. Once you did that then you can spray some penetrating oil into the hole and it will take a while then you can try an EZ out and if that won't work continue with larger size drill bits until you get close enough to use a tap and rethread the hole.

I believe the tail housing is an aluminum alloy. There are shops that do heliarc welding and if the housing is removed , take the pieces to a shop and they should be able to re-attach them. Not just any welder will do , it has to be Heliarc. Start with your local telephone book . If you can't find anyone there go to a larger town/city telephone book.
That should solve the problem until you can locate a replacement. The repair may even outlast the trans/truck.
