94 F250 5.8 will not start! Need my truck!!
My 94 F250 5.8 just stopped starting yesterday. The truck is getting power and electronics are working but there is no sound when I turn the key to start position. Truck starts and runs like normal if I just put key in run and bypass starter relay on fender with a screwdriver. All fuses are good but there is just no sound. Thought it was the relay but a new relay did the same thing. Any idea where the problem is from ignition switch to relay? Any help would be great. Use truck daily so need some assistance. Thanks

If your truck is an automatic, check the neutral safety switch ( now called trans range switch/sensor). Start signal goes from ign switch thru neutral safety switch to relay on fender well.
If std shift check clutch safety switch at bottom of clutch pedal at linkage.
If you have a test lite or voltmeter you can easily confirm if either switch is defective . You will have juice to the switch when you turn the key to start position, but probably nothing coming out to the relay.

Hanky,
That worked great it started right up. Thank you. i wont have to pop the hood everywhere i go know. The plug was really dirty and clogged so i just shook it clean and it worked but i dont think i should just call it good. Do you know if there is an easy way to really clean it or replace it w/o striping and rewiring a new harness? Also I had a rebuilt trans put in about a year ago that is supposed to be built stronger since I have it set up to plow in the winter but now it revs high and slams into second no matter what. They said its normal but it just really doesnt feel right. Do you know if it truly is normal or maybe could it be a switch telling it when to shift? Thanks again you really helped out.

Glad to be able to offer some help.
What I usually did with dirty connections was to clean them with PB Blaster or WD 40.
It also left something of a protective to slow down corroding. Thanks for the update.
Don't know what they might have done on trans rebuild , maybe changed some springs in the valve body to give more positive shift.
