Default no start

hi all I am working on a 96 powerstroke and cant figure out what is going on. Ok I can start and drive this pickup when it warms up and has been running for a while you shut it off and it will not start back up. If you let it sit and cool for at least 2 hours it will start and run again but it will never die when it is running. I have checked the oil reservoir and it is full. What could be my problem

Sounds like a possible high oil pressure problem.. A leak/out of spec pressure can cause a no start 'hot' condition, then restart after cooling.. 500lbs needed for a start, and/or you can check for spec cranking pressure with a test gauge at the heads, or use a DVOM at the IPC or PCM.. DB/LG and GY/RD wires for a minimum of .83v during cranking.. PCM pins 87 and 91..

Some of the powerstrokes also had problems with the cam sensor. In some cases the cam sensor would cause a similar problem. Check for codesfirst, a cam sensor should set a code.
