Alternator problem HELP!
Hey guys im new to this forum and im having a problem with my 1976 ford f250 camper special alternator i did a little test by disconnecting the negative terminal off my battery and right away it died i just wanted to know if it was normal??? can anyone post the charging or wiring diagram for the alternator in advance thanks>>>

In days LONG gone by , disconnecting the battery cable was one of the "tests" guys did. Today doing that is a NO NO.
You did not state the nature of the problem.
Would you care to share that with us?
Since you are requesting a diagram is it safe to assume you have some testing equipment you can use like a voltmeter and/or ammeter?

You can always do an isolation test to diagnose the regulator/alternator for faults.
If the system charge rate is checked and isn't charging, unplug the voltage regulator and look at the connector face. With it still disconnected, start the engine and use a test wire and bridge the 'A and F' terminals on the connector. Retest the rate of charge. With the bridge connection in place the system will go full charge and usually you'll hear the engines load increase, or slow slightly. If not, chances are the Alt is bad or wiring etc. If the system does goes full charge, look at the regulator/wiring as a cause..
