I have never owed a diesel before, or have never purchased extended warranty either. I now have a 2015 F250. I purchased this truck in Nov. 0f 2014 and only have just under 5,700 miles on it. By November I may have about 7,500 to 8,000 on it because I going to take a trip. My previous truck, was a GMC extended cab gasoline engine, and over a 7 year and 6 months period I averaged under 250 miles a month. Being as I'm retired I don't drive every day, and when I do it is short trips locally. But we did take a few trips in it.

But now that I have this diesel super duty turbo very expensive truck that I heard takes more maintenance care, and has a lot of electronics in it, I am thinking I should purchase a more warranty coverage and maybe a maintenance plan.

I would appreciate any all experiences, especially if there are any maintenance tech/managers lurking here whom may have some thoughts on the subject, if you were me what would you do.

All things considered , if you can afford the extended warranty, take it.
Since it is your first diesel , you will have a lot to learn about diesels especially today's diesels. If the particulate filter , exhaust fluid system, and electronics decide to go haywire , it can get VERY expensive. Just make sure you read and understand just what the warranty covers. Some companies offer different coverage levels .
