Default How are the new 6.7 diesels holding up in the field?

Hey guys, new member here. I was wondering how the new ford diesels are holding up? I'm looking at buying 2 or 3 lariats for crew trucks. They will be used in the oilfield mainly for hot shotting and hauling my rzrs and quads in an enclosed trailer for spraying. Around 12k pounds is about all I'll be towing including the goose neck trailer. So how are the engines/transmissions holding up? I'm looking to buy for warranty, but problems cost money regardless if they're work trucks. My friend has 3 for work trucks, they get abused and so far they're surprisingly trouble free, I'm a ford man but the 6.0s and 6.4s had their share of issues. Thanks for any input.

I was also wondering how the new 6.2 gas is for towing? It would probly be rare I'd have over 6k lbs on the trailer, but I'd like to be able to tow more if necessary. I really like the power, but havent towed with one yet. I'm just excited ford has some awesome gas motors, cheaper to maintain and now they have power. I love my 5.4 f250, totally bullet proof, but not a good hauler on hills and soft roads.

Thanks for any input guys.

Thumbs down

I am wondering the same thing about the new diesel, but I think this site is dead.
One of the reasons may be when you roll across the post it highlights ads for DODGE trucks and LEXUS autos.
Too many ads will kill a site...just this mans opinion!

Smile How are the new 6.7 diesels holding up in the field?

I can't speak for everyone else, but I like mine. I had an 08 superduty. and the mileage was horrible. I was getting about 12 miles a gallon. when I started looking around for a new truck with better mileage. a local ford dealer let me test drive a 2011 superduty the for the whole weekend. told me not to worry about how much fuel I use. just take it and enjoy it and act as if was mine.. so I did. I drove it around town on the highway hooked my trailer up to it and went to the local dump to haul trash off and I was getting 18 to 19 miles a gallon on average. so that was a starting factor for me to get another superduty. I went to go visit some friends that are about 60 miles away one way. and I was went on the highway and I was getting 20 to 21 miles a gallon and i was doing @ 65 to 70 mph the whole time. so I was happy to see better mileage. so I did buy another superduty and I have no problems or complaints about it.

Default No problems!

Have put approximately 25,000 miles in 16 months and approximately 2,500 miles of it towing a 15,000 # fifth wheel and I am quite impressed. Although I do not get that good of fuel mileage going 65-70 passing cars up hill, but it sure is fun! Great so far.
