need advice on buying this 2000 F250 v10 4x4 from some ford experts
Here is the description of the vehicle: 2000 F250 Ford Lariat 4x4 Black, v10, all tan leather Int, Super cab 4 door. Almost new Super Swampers. 8' suspension lift. 70,700 original miles. $9900 o.b.o
I talked to the guy and he said the guy before him died and the track sat for 2 years because his kid inherited it. The guy that owns it now had the fuel tank cleaned and put a new fuel pump and has been driving for 9 months now and wants to get a camper so he is selling it. I am supposed to go look at the truck tomorrow and was wondering what I should look out for since it sat so long and how reliable this year F250 is. I have owned mostly chevys so I am kind of lost on the ford knowledge. Also whats the most you would pay for this truck if it checked out alright. Thanks a lot for the help and advice.

Welcome to the site.. Looks decent from here
Does it have any service documentation with it? The 4R trans should have been serviced a couple times alread. if an auto. Pretty important they get serviced, more so if used in severe duty applications, or heavy towing ect. Coolant flush? A lot of the Titon motors had plug/head thread problems and could always surface at some point. Just something to be aware of. The 6.8 is pretty bad on fuel mileage, but they are good work horse engines, and they sound great! Being the grille was changed, oversized tires, would lead me to believe it was owned by a younger owner. Stock exhaust? Was it a work truck (boxes). None of those items would flag a pruchase for me, but may point to how it was used and cared for..
