rpm too high

I have an 88 f250 with a 7.3 3speed auto that i use for towing, i am getting about 3200 rpm at 65 mph which is entirely too much for long travels, is there any way to cut the rpms down

aux overdrive

i had a friend who had a early 80s f-350 who used it to pull his boat from the city to the lake about 130 interstate miles and he put on an aux overdrive which lowered rpms and gave 6 miles per gallon fuel economy
