Default shift interlock

i went to leave work one day and couldnt shift my 96 fordf250 into gear...its an automatic with a 460 motor...my buddy decided to unplug what he thought was the abs...all i know is it was somewhere above the left front tired...that worked..havent had a problem shifting with it since but now my brake lights dont work and the abs light is constantly blinking on the dashboard...also we tried replacing the fuse in the cab that was labeled something about the shift interlock system but it blows fuses instantly so ive just been dealing with it but im due for inspection and need to take care of the problem...also the transmission shifts hard..doesnt make any sounds or slips but it just slams into gears is this a relating issue or is the transmission ready to go?

Default 88 f250 stuck in park

I've got a 1988 f250 5.8L auto and it won't start and I can't shift it out of park. I've charged the battery, replaced the ignition lock, starter relay and am now eyeballing the park/neutral safety switch. Oh, the brake lights work and I can start it by jumping the starter relay. Is there a brake shift interlock on this truck? Also replaced the starter switch. Help and thanks
