Default should delete my egr

I recently bought a 05 F350 crew 6.0. It was used with 45,000 miles. After doing some additional research it appears that one of the major problems is with the EGR system. I understand how it works and why it is on the vehicle. I unplugged the EGR about a month ago with no codes or problems, and it is in the closed position. I am leaving most of the truck stock. I pulled the egr valve today and surprisingly it was fairly clean, only took about 10 minutes to clean some soot off.

My question is should I do a delete on the EGR system? I moslty use the truck for local driving, less than 5,000 miles a year. Will the EGR go out with normal use? I pull my 24 foot, 7800 lbs 5ver a couple times a summer approximately 1500 miles total.

I'm glad someone could help.

But, if it's working why delete it?

Talking

Lets see, posted 8-16, this is 8-17, not very patient, are we! I had an ongoing problem on my 04, 6.0, 350 with "de-gassing" that ford has a bulliton out on. They had a couple fixes for it, but I didn't think they were solving the problem, it wasn't that bad, so I just didn't fill the coolant tank to the low mark ( one of their recomendations ). Finally, I took it to the local dealer, had it tested, and for 180$ was told the head gaskets were leaking. I was thinking maybe not, since it hadn't changed for about never, and had pulled some serious loads ( never over 10 or 15 tons ) which should've blown chunks of gaskets somewhere! Took it to a more reputable dealer for the same tests and they said it was the EGR cooler. Maybe. Went home and ordered a Liberator bypass kit and started tearing things apart. found a leaking egr cooler hose caused by the non-positive connections they use, and nothing else. Installed the kit, and everything seems to be fine. No codes and no more degassing (vapor bubbling into the coolant tank). Seems to be running a little cooler and the thing makes more noise out the Banks exaust than it ever did! Don't know about economy yet as I've been working it pretty hard ever since, but it looks promising! I suppose a tuner might help, but I don't need more power, maybe better economy.
