Default What lift should I use?

For my first rig I'm building a 97 f250 HD. It has a 351w and a 5 speed manual transmission. I don't have very much experience, that is why I'm building a truck so I can gain the experience through working on it. I'm looking for opinions on what lift to put in it. I'm looking to get a 6in suspension lift, re-arch the leaf springs for an extra 2in's and put a 3in body lift on it so I can throw a set of 40x14.5s on it. The front axle is twin beam so I would consider doing a solid front axle swap, but what would I do for the lift after that? Open to any and all suggestions!
