I'm new here as of today. I have a question and it has probably been ask before. But, bare with me please. I am looking for floor braces for the '54 Skyliner I am doing. So far, all I find is for '55-'56. And I actually need the front two (Drivers and passenger sides). Also all I find is the set of just the ends for the outside body edge. I can't see buying this set just when I only need the two full braces. Besides that if I get just the pieces I would have to add to them to go towards the tunnel. Any help is appreciated. Thanks:

 

Hi, your question is three years old, but have you benn able to get theose braces for your 54´car. I´m restoring a 54 sunliner and need those braces too.

There are end pieces that attach to the inner rocker panels available from several suppliers. But, I needed complete ones. So, I took the old ones and made my own complete ones. It took some time ,but they worked good. And since they are under the body and the under side will be under coated you won't see that they are not exactly perfect.

 

that´s also a good idea. thanks for your response. I now have seen that EMS is rebuilding them after a long time. i now have to look under my car which ones I really would need to replace or if probably your method is the easier one, especially because I´m located in Germany and each thing from the US is expensive to import... Do you have a favourite seller of parts for the car besides ebay? I probably will need further things in future when doing the restoration of my sunliner.

 

I have bought a few sheet metal parts from Mac's Parts and some from Ebay.
