Default Information on Freestar

Hi my name is Llogan. I am new to the Ford forum and was just wandering if anybody owns the Freestar? If so I was just wandering if anyone would mind providing some information about it. I was just wandering what model do you own. Does it seem to be holding out pretty good? Does it seem to be a good vehicle? Do you get lots of compliments on it? What is the gas mileage on the Freestar that you own? Does your vehicle have good passing power? What kind of features does your Freestar provide?

We bought a 2005 Freestar SES with 14,000 miles about a month ago. We took it from Raleigh to Orlando last week. 23 MPG up and back. It has a 26 gal tank, so we made it down on 1 tank and back on 1 tank. It rides nice and quiet. It looks good too. The dark Grey color. We wish it had the 6 cd changer, but other than that no complaints.

i dont own one but i work on them every day they have lots of power for passing and the mileage on the ones that were tested at our dealer averaged about 23 mpg ,,the first year they switched from windstar they didnt sell very well but have been selling alot better this year i think people thought it was a completely new van most of the changes from the windstar were only cosmetic virtually just a name change with some new features

Hey HockeyHitMan-

Can I safely use 5w30 synthetic in it, even though it calls for 5w20? I just think 5w20 is too thin for warmer months.

THanks!

Hi, I have a 04 SEL. It has all the bells and whistles, I really like it. The Advance track is amazing and the power doors are a great feature. It has the 4.2L which gives lots of passing power. My daughter says that it is quite noisy in the back row on the highway though (comparing it to a Grand Caravan). The only real problem I have had is that it has been in the shop for the greater part of the last 3 months! I had a trailer hitch installed and ever since the traction control / advance-trac has been acting up. It was sent to the third dealership today. Lots of sensors and modules replaced, over $3000 in repairs (to the dealer) and still not fixed! [:@]
