Default Recall on Fusion mounting bolts for Power steering motor

Recalls do happen from time to time for all manufacturers, however there seems to be little or no consideration for the owners loss of use, travel or phone calls to see how repairs are moving along. That said, our dealer has been excellent when it comes to a service car and chasing down Ford for solutions for the problem. In our case, one of the mounting bolts broke and required a new steering unit. The new part arrived, was installed but somehow would not communicate with the electronics in the car - hence cannot be driven. Going into week 5, no solution as yet so I contacted Ford Customer Service and like most asked what Ford is doing to solve this problem (yes the Tech folks at FORD are working on the solution but after this long there should be a solution) and what consideration/compensation for the delay in repairs. Answer - FORD does not offer any form of compensation for lost time while the car is in the garage for service or repair. For us, this is not the best way to satisfy customers and maintain that customers loyalty to Ford's products.
Are we out of line or is this today's standard in the automotive sector?
