Does the HEI dist have a vacuum port? If so you want to run the vacuum hose to the front of the carb, there should be one small pipe that has no vacuum at idle and only gets vacuum upon acceleration. You do not want the one (If there is a second one) that pulls constant vacuum at idle hooked to the distributor. There should be a large 1/2 inch tube coming out of the back of the Holley carb and this is where you plumb the vacuum brake booster hose into. If you have manual brakes plug this opening off, or plumb the PCV valve into it. If you have both a PCV valve and power brakes do not hook these two together with a T fitting. Plum the power brakes into the back of the carb opening and if you have to use a spacer between the carb and the intake and drill and tap the spacer to except a fitting that will allow you to attach the PCV hose. Also make sure that if you are running after market valve covers that you have a good breather on the opposit valve cover from the PCV valve so that you get the maximum crank case ventilation. Hope this helps.
