Well I fixed the problem but don't know why the fix works. I went by the instructions on the link that I posted previously. Removed the fuse (#21), turned the key to accessory and the radio worked in all gears. Great. However, when I pulled the plug on the neutral safety switch, it had no effect on the radio. After seeing this I wasn't 100% sure that the NSS was the problem. For the heck of it, I put everything back to normal and pulled a 5 amp fuse next to the one in the instructions, (#22 I believe), and everything worked like normal. According to alldata this fuse does nothing so I left it out. Drove around, stopped a couple places, drove home and everything seems ok. Go figure. Will see if there is any long term effects.

It has been pouring down rain here, and I have run into a problem with my stock radio in my 08' Ranger with satellite radio. I noticed today that my radio has suddenly stopped playing, and for no apparent reason. It worked this morning, and then in the afternoon I did some running around. I stopped for gas, and when I entered and started the vehicle, the radio would not come on -- eventhough it was on and the volume was displaying five bars. I had a short 1/2 mile drive home, and I pulled into my drive but didn't have time to troubleshoot. Therefore, I haven't pulled fuses yet. I need to know more info. on the link posted earlier. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I think I will just pull fuse #21 (if that is the one for the radio) and replace. I know from experience that a fuse can look fine but be blown. Also, my old Ranger had the radio tied to the horn (so one couldn't pull the fuse intentionally). I'll see if there is a change tomorrow.
