check engine light 98 ranger
#11
Thanks for the guide. I did clean the MAF properly with the correct cleaner and followed the directions on the can and also watched multiple how to do video's.
Now I did find something that is making some sense. With the engine running I couldn't find or hear a vacuum leak however when driving as I would come to a stop and take off from a stop I would hear what would sound like a vacuum leak. When stopped no sound, just when applying the brake as stopping I would hear it and when taking off It sounded like a reverse sound of it.
When looking at my passenger front brake I followed the vacuum hose from the caliper up to a rubber connector and notice a screw in one side (the passengers side) of the connector and the other side with no screw but looked as a screw was once in it.
I put a screw in it and its been a week without a check engine light and no sound.
Any thoughts?

What I'm saying is when I am using my 4WD and I'm driving to work in the snow everything is good however, when I slow to turn into a parking lot it feels like my parking brake is on. When I straighten back out its good again.
