Default How to turn off airbag?

I've got a 1997 Ford Ranger. I bought it used, and it didn't come with an owner's manual. How can I find out if it has a passenger side airbag?Looking at the dashboard, it looks like it has the"cutout" for one, but I've never seen a keyhole to turn it off, and there's no idication anywhere that the truck has one.

Can anyone tell me how to find out if I have one, and if so how/where to turn it off? Thanks!

Passenger airbags weren't mandated until later MY's.. If your was optioned/equipped, it would have a PAD (passengerairbag deactivation) switch and wouldbe constructed with a moulded-in tear seam that separates when the air bag inflates along with an identifing SRS ect on the bag cover..

Here's a image of the PAD and location..

If your car was in an accident then you will have to get your airbag control module reset. I had the same problem with my Ford and the dealer wanted $220 for the new module. I have sent my module and they have reset my module for $55 with FREE shipping. I sent them my module and they had a fast 1 day turnaround and shipped it back to me and I had it back in a few days. I would recommend these guys to anyone. I have saved a lot of money !!! Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.[/align]
