I have a Ford Ranger 2000 4X4 4.0 automatic. When going downhill, attempting to manually shift into low it will not shift into low. Anyone out there with any ideas? I have three more weeks under warranty and dealer states there is NO problem. I have another Ford same year same 4X4 and this one will shift, so what's up with that?

 

i'm not sure what your talking about by shifting into low, low as in first gear? or low as in low 4x4. but if it's first gear, some transmissions are like that, it's also not very good for the 1st gear synchro's if you try and shift into first gear while moving over 10mph, if its 4 low, as in 4x4, make sure your at a complete stop while shifting into, and out of any 4 wheel drive gear, its so much easier on your truck and will make for no problems in the future
