I like your answer. The reason I asked about maintenance was, could anything have been disturbed at the time the work was done. I should have been more specific and referred to any particular maintenance not routine maintenance. Usually when you have a quick shut off as described it is an electrical problem. A good place to start would be to check all connections starting at the battery and follow through to where you can't go any further. That includes the ground connections.
If you lose the signal from the crank sensor everything stops. The same thing can happen anywhere along the line from that sensor thru the entire ignition system. So as you can see the problem can be difficult to find without modern eletrical and ignition test equipment. Have you checked for any codes in the computer yet? They may provide a clue as to which system is causing the problem.

A good portion of the time with no codes, it can be a very basic item causing the problem. Just for starters I would suggest check every connection from the battery to the fuse panel and even the fuses themselves. Usually its something not computer related ,but you can't rule out a connection that opens momentarily before the computer realizes there was an interruption in a signal.

If you feel you are on the right track then why not try and remove and reconnect some of the connections not all, and see if that has any effect. If it doesn't then do the remaining connections , at least you can cut the amount of connections in half. Once you can narrow it down to one connection you will have found the problem. That is the cheapest and maybe not the fastest way to get to the problem , but all it costs you is your time. What do you think?
