Unhappy 01 taurus has po301 code.. still dont know?????

I have a 01 taurus that I got from Homeland Security out of El Paso Texas.

When the weather started to turn colder we started having problems. The check Engine light came on and she started to idle rough.

This is a list of what we have done or fixed

1. All new spark plugs and wires.
2. New PCV valve
3. Remover and cleaned the Mass Air flow Sensor and new Air flow filter
4. Used Sea Foam in the gas
5. Replaced the belt
6. oil change

After replacing all these things, she is running much better, but we are still getting the same PO301 code.

My question is..... Could the Ignition coil be going bad?

Anyone who can help. please!!!

update:.... I just replaced the ignition coil... she is running rougher than before... my husband took the ignition wire off the ignition coil on cylinder #1 and it shocked the crap out of him BUT there was no change in her idling.... she stayed the same.....

OH BY THE WAY..... once she gets warmed up, she runs fine and acts just fine. My mechanic cant figure it out.... PLEASE HELP!!!!

P0301 says misfire on Cylinder 1. The prime suspects are plugs wires and coil. But a misfire could also be cause by a bad injector or an intake manifold leak, or even a loss of compression.

I agree with bluewind. Also a problem in the valves could cause it.

Does anyone know a good link to the air intake system on a 3.0 01 taurus?????

I just changed the spark plug in cylinder #1 again and she has more power but still alittle rough.

Thinking it may be a hose that needs replaced... Need a link so i can find out for sure! Please help!!!!!!

Now what exactly did this Sasquatch do to your plugs, in particular No 1?
