Ford Taurus 1995 GL SW 3.8l. 65000 miles, garage storage, regular
maintenance.
Recently Check Engine light started to come on occasionally. (5-60 sec
on and then off). Self test displays error codes 181, 189. Meaning of
the codes is: "Fuel system at rich adaptive limit at partial throttle/
system lean". I was not able to get any connection between car
behaviour and "check engine light". Any idea on where to look will be
appreciated.

It was a dirty MAF sensor!!! Just cleaned it with electronics cleaner spray - works like a charm now !!!!!!
