2000 Taurus SES Driver Side Electric Window goes down but not up
Hi All -- Apologies in advance if this has been talked about as I'm new here.
I have a problem with my 2000 Taurus that started happening today. I went to get gas and rolled my window about halfway down electronically with no problem.
When I was going to leave the gas station, I hit the up button which worked perfectly up until today and the window wouldn't raise. I hit the down button and it went down, but not up.
The only thing I noticed is that when I hit the down/up buttons on all of the other windows I hear a little clicking sound when pressing the button.
On the drivers side window I hear the click when pressing down but not up.
Any idea what this could be?
Also I'm wondering if I'd have to take the door apart to look for these issues.
If anyone has any experience with this car if you could add your two cents I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much!
Justin

Thanks for the advice. I found a 1AAuto video for taking the door panel off on Youtube. I'm going to do that and then test for voltage. It appears to be a switch issue on the surface. If it is I'll just go to Advance Auto Parts and try to replace it myself.
This may be a foolish question but once I get the door cover off and unplug the wires from the switch is there anything I can do to temporarily get the window up since it's stuck down?
Thanks

Good news. Fixed this myself today. I get a discount at Advance Auto Parts because we do IT work for them so I went there after work and picked up a new electronic window switch for $30. I had a hunch it was the switch button since the top left button was making no clicking noise when pressing up. After popping off the door panel I just replaced the switch and popped it right back on and the issue was resolved. 30 minute job for a total newb like me. Thanks for your help!
