Lightbulb 2001 Taurus Timing Cover Water Leak

I am currently having a problem with a timing cover water leak as per the mechanic. Is quoted me a price on the dealer of $1000-$1200 for this repair. This is price on reasonable, considering it is only a few gaskets, i.e. water pump & timing cover gasket?
Thanks a Bunch for Your Help
