95 Tarus fuel problem
This morning we were driving along when our 95 Tarus GL with the 3.0 OHV engine just quit. First thing I though was that the ingition module had gone bad, so took it off and had it tested. It was good. After discovering there was no fuel in the fuel rail (via the "schrader" type valve) and could not hear the pump cycle on and off and also checking to see if the inertia switch in the trunk had become "tripped" I looked in vain for the fuel pump relay. After spending a lot of time under the hood and dash I gave up. I have heard that some Fords hav a relay box under the fan shroud, could this be the culprit if it's there. I really don't have the money to spend on a pump replacement. Could someone please tell me where the relay for the fuel pump is? Thanks

RE: 95 Tarus fuel problem
The Fuel Pump Relay is located in the Power Distribution Box. The Box is located under the hood in the engine compartment on the upper left fender apron. The Fuel Relay is in the #10 location within the box; 30amp; it may or may not have the letter C stamped on top of it.
When you remove the top-cover of the Power Distribution Box, you will see two small fuses at one end; starting from that end of the box, count the bigger Fuses/Relays down to the 8th one... that would the PCM/Fuel Relay.

RE: 95 Tarus fuel problem
Dukesport....used your info on a 92 SHO but found a 30 amp fuse rather than a relay at that Power Distribution Box Location. Isn't the relay downstream of the fuse?
My problem is that fuel pump(s) are failing quickly. I have measured only 6.4 volts(not under load) at the Fuel Rollover Valve connector.....I need to get to the relay for a 92 SHO to see if it's the culprit......thanks....... Don

Look on the drivers side top of the radiator. Under the small plastic cover you should see a module witha fairly large wiring harness going to it. That is the CCRM which houses the fuel pump relay. Here is picture of location
