I have a 99 taurus wagon with the duratec engine and have noticed a badly corroded piece of metal tubing/pipe that runs from the water pump to the thermostat elbow. It is not leaking yet but is badly corroded and scaling off on the outside. Does anyone know the proper term for this part and maybe a good source other than the dealer? A good general schematic of the cooling system hoses would be appreciated too, if possible.

 

I have looked for a picture of the tube you are talking about. I can not find a good one to post.
