So, how have these cars been doing lately?

Our reliability stats for the Taurus now include owner experiences through March 31, 2015. (Others are nearly a year behind.)

In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year ("low" is best):

2014 Taurus: 49, moderate, very small sample size
2013 Taurus: 42, moderate
2012 Taurus: 73, high, very small sample size
2011 Taurus: 52, moderate
2010 Taurus: 55, moderate
2009 Taurus: 61, moderate, very small sample size
2008 Taurus: 49, low
2005 Taurus: 91, moderate, very small sample size
2004 Taurus: 78, moderate, very small sample size
2003 Taurus: 92, moderate, small sample size
2002 Taurus: 97, moderate, very small sample size
2001 Taurus: 116, moderate
2000 Taurus: 64, low, small sample size

Plus, the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2011 Taurus: 55, < 1
2008 Taurus: 58, 2

No stat for a model year? Then we very much need more participants for it. Same for those with small sample size notes. Next updates in August and November.

Our reliability stats for the Taurus now cover the year ending June 30, 2015. (Others are over a year behind, and so report how these cars were doing when a year younger.)

Repair trips per 100 cars:

2014 Taurus: 59, high, very small sample size
2013 Taurus: 47, moderate
2012 Taurus: 63, moderate, very small sample size
2011 Taurus: 31, low
2010 Taurus: 44, low
2009 Taurus: 48, low, very small sample size
2008 Taurus: 49, low
2005 Taurus: 50, low, very small sample size
2004 Taurus: 78, moderate, very small sample size
2003 Taurus: 112, moderate, small sample size
2002 Taurus: 66, low, small sample size
2001 Taurus: 107, moderate
2000 Taurus: 56, low, small sample size

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2013 Taurus: 63, 4
2011 Taurus: 67, < 1
2010 Taurus: 68, 4
2008 Taurus: 61, 4

If a model year isn't listed, or its sample size is small, then we especially need more owners involved.

2013 Taurus: 31, low
2012 Taurus: 72, high, very small sample size
2011 Taurus: 26, low
2010 Taurus: 49, moderate
2009 Taurus: 12, low, very small sample size
2008 Taurus: 64, moderate
2005 Taurus: 89, moderate, very small sample size
2004 Taurus: 74, low, very small sample size

2002 Taurus: 42, low, very small sample size
2001 Taurus: 103, moderate, small sample size

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2013 Taurus: 71, 3

We've updated our reliability stats for the Taurus to include owner experiences through the end of 2015, about eight months ahead of other sources. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year--lower is better:

2014 Taurus: 62, high, small sample size
2013 Taurus: 33, moderate
2012 Taurus: 47, moderate, very small sample size
2011 Taurus: 21, low
2010 Taurus: 44, low
2009 Taurus: 13, low, very small sample size
2008 Taurus: 69, moderate
2005 Taurus: 60, low, very small sample size
2004 Taurus: 67, low, very small sample size
2003 Taurus: 108, moderate, small sample size
2002 Taurus: 21, low, very small sample size
2001 Taurus: 104, moderate, small sample size
2000 Taurus: 56, low, small sample size

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2013 Taurus: 76, < 1
2011 Taurus: 85, < 1
2010 Taurus: 63, < 1
2008 Taurus: 47, 2

No stat, or a small sample size? Then we especially need more owners involved for that model year.

the idea behind the site is fantastic. Unfortunately, the data appears to be from the owners...most of whom do not fully understand why work was done or connect problems that in no way are related.

some reported problems are actually just neglected maintenance ie spark plugs, drive belts and tensioners. Still, the site can be a useful resource.

It's definitely the case that some owners understand what was done more than others do.

Can you point to specific instances, so it's clear what you're referring to, and what the implications might be?

For the stats we only need to know if someone was done to make a problem go away.

We've updated our reliability stats for the Taurus to include owner experiences through June 30, 2016. Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year (lower is better):

2014 Taurus: 44, moderate, small sample size
2013 Taurus: 31, moderate
2012 Taurus: 28, low, very small sample size
2011 Taurus: 24, low
2010 Taurus: 38, low
2009 Taurus: 0, low, very small sample size
2008 Taurus: 75, moderate
2005 Taurus: 88, moderate, small sample size
2004 Taurus: 73, moderate, very small sample size
2003 Taurus: 102, moderate, small sample size
2002 Taurus: 12, low, very small sample size
2001 Taurus: 116, moderate, small sample size

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2011 Taurus: 82, 3
2010 Taurus: 71, < 1
2008 Taurus: 47, 4

Additional participants would be especially helpful for years with small sample sizes.
