Default taurus 2000

my car shows power but wont start , no sound as key turns, any ideas?

I'm going to guess that your starter went out. In order to access the starter, you would have to remove or disconnect the negative battery cable, splash shield, and starter electrical connectors. You should be able to remove the starter at this point. Install the new one and tighten the bolts to 16-21 ft. lbs. Install the Starter electrical connectors and tighten the battery cable nut to 80–123 inch lbs. Then re-install the splash shield and connect the negative battery cable.

Turn on the headlights and see if they are real bright or sort of dim. If the battery is really low, the lights will come on, but there is not enough current to turn the starter. See if you can get someone to give you a jump to see if it will start. Be sure to hook the cables up properly. Good luck.
