Default vibration in gas pedal

I just bought a 2004 Taurus SE, with a 3.0L engine. There is a problem with a droning/oscillating vibration in the gas pedal while driving. The pedal does not vibrate when the it is pressed while the car is in park. Also, the vibration does still occur when the car is coasting in neutral. Because of these points, I am led to believe that it is not caused by engine vibration. The car has been in to the dealership for servicing twice, and both times there was no improvement. The first time, they performed a TSB which called for a different bracket behind the pedal to alter the path of the pedal cable. The second time, they replaced wheel bearings.

If anyone else has experienced this problem please let me know what was done to fix it. Or if you have any advice, that would be appreciated too. Thanks in advance.

I'd suspect the bracket that holds the cable jacket near the throttle body might be loose?

Where is this bracket? Is it right by the throttle? There is a small plastic loop holding the cable but its a foot or two from the throttle, closer to the back of the compartment.

I will give it a look after work today.
Besides that, does anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks.

My brother has an 04 taurus with 14,500 miles , and it's accelerator has vibration. But his doesn't happen until you reach about 45 mph/50 mph right after you drop into overdrive. Anybody have a clue on this?

Default RE: vibration in gas pedal

The gas pedal pedal vibration is very evident on my 2004 SEL. There are actually two issues. The first is a vibration whenever the engine is running and the gas pedal is depressed and released. It happen all the time the engine is running, but it does not vibrate when the engine is not running. I went to my dealer today and tried several 2004 and 2005 Taurus' - all of them did the same thing. I have tried insulating the accelerator pedal, the pedal mount on the firewall, and the cable bracket on the throttle body. None of these things made any difference.
The second issue appears when the car reaches around 40 MPH and is in overdrive. There are some TSB's addressing this issue as has been mentioned in an earlier post. I have had this work done, and again, it didn't solve anything.
I have to believe that someone, somewhere, knows the cause of this and what can be done to solve it. It is driving me crazy.
