Default 1984 Tempo radio removal.

Just bought my wife a 1984 Tempo GLX 4D with 45k original miles! A one owner car that was stored for the better part of the last 16 years.
I would like to put a new stereo in it but I'm not sure how involved removing the factory radio is. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

zephyr: you should invest $20 in a Haynes manual. In the olden days you had to pull off the volume and tuning ***** and then use a wrench to remove the nuts. You reached under the dash and pushed the radio in and it fell out from under the dash. Disconnect the speaker cables, power cable, ground cable and antenna cable.

In the modern days you need a special radio removal tool and insert them in the 4 small holes. After engaging you spread the tools apart and pull the radio out.

1984? Wasn't there a movie called "1984"? ----I have to stop before things get weird.
