The diesel fuel injection pump is leaking fuel around the throttle shaft. I've read that others have had the same problem but I haven't been able to find out how the problem was resolved. Does anyone have an idea of whether this thing is repairable and how to find repair parts? My local Ford dealer tells me that parts aren't available and the local Mazda dealer can't even confirm that the engine came from their factory.

I'm beginning to fear that this might be the end of the car's life if the pump can't be repaired or replaced economically.

 

Many times a diesel pump repair shop will be able to help you out. They deal with all kinds of diesel injection systems and probably either have the solution or can get it for you. You can start with inquiring if there are any diesel pump calibration /repair shops in your area. If not any large truck dealership will know where one is located they all use them at one time or another.
